Day 3 - getting started
Typically I try to swim weekday mornings, and I only get 30 minutes to get my swim on. I average 18x50m lengths which is 900m. This challenge is pushing me already though. First, it started on a Sunday which I usually use for some R&R. My wife gave me a boot up the bum though, and I got my first session in just after lunch. I also added two laps to my toutine which makes logging 1000 metres in the fundraising app nice and neat. I've continued with those extra laps for Monday's and Tuesday's swim which is no small feat considering how crowded my mornings are. It seems to be working. So, with three 1km swims logged now, I feel like I'm off to a good start. Who knows, I may be able to fit some extra laps in next weekend too?

Watching everyone join up, commit to the training sessions, set big goals, and rally behind this cause has filled my heart more than I can put into words. It’s not just about the kilometres we swim — it’s about the love, loyalty, and strength of this incredible community of swimmers . Love seeing the young ones join us this year .
Every lap represents encouragement . Every Wednesday and Saturday session shows what happens when good people come together for something bigger than themselves.
I am so proud of each and every one of you — for your effort, your energy, and your generosity.

Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people in Australia.
More than 1 in 3 are experiencing mental health difficulties, yet over a million are not getting the support they need.
ReachOut provides anonymous, free and 100% online services so young people can find a safe place to connect, share and get help when life feels overwhelming.
We're taking part in Laps for Life to make sure these vital services are always there. Please donate to our fundraiser and help more young people get the support they deserve.
