For the Third Year I’m Taking The Laps For Life Challenge

  • This is my third year diving

  • in for youth mental health

I swim because I love it. It relaxes me, it challenges me and at times it scares me but it always transforms my mood. I never regret a swim - sun, rain, winter or summer. I call it my aqualibrium. 🐳🏊‍♀️🐟🏊‍♀️

Some young people are not so lucky. Sadly, suicide is the leading cause of death for young people in Australia. It’s a statist that should not be possible in ‘the lucky country’. To put it into perspective, each year more young people die by suicide than in car accidents or from cancer.

Starting today and for the next 31 days, I'm taking the Laps For Life Challenge 2025. I’ll be swimming a total of 35kms to make sure young people in Australia have the mental health support they urgently need.

If you sponsor my challenge, you’ll be contributing to a brilliant, accessible and effective program that helps to prevent youth suicide.👏🙌💕

All funds raised will help young people get the access to the mental health support that will give them the tools, resources and strategies that enable them to overcome their immediate crisis and importantly, build their confidence to feel better about the future - no matter what challenge they're facing. ☀️

I’ve set a fundraising target of $1000 for the month of March.

I know full well that times are tough and money is tight. No matter how much money I raise, I’ll swim the distance knowing every cent will make a difference.

If you feel this cause is worth a couple of dollars, please make a tax-deductible donation to my page. I’m not asking for big sums. $1000 is just a number. If 10 people donated the cost of one cup of coffee (particularly in Sydney right now!) it would raise between $45 and $70 - depending k on how you like it! And unline your cup of coffee, you can claim the donation on your tax. 😀It’s the power of collaboration.

As always, if you are unable to support this cause financially, please throw words of encouragement and support. It’s equally meaningful and quite frankly, strokes my ego! 😆

I’ll keep you posted on my progress and thank you in advance for supporting the mental health of our future generations. 🙏🏻❤️
