I'm swimming to save lives
- This is my first year diving
- in for youth mental health
I'm swimming for my nephew Dylan Oakley x
I felt so helpless when this tragedy hit my family. And it's happening way too often!
There is nothing I can do to bring Dylan back, but by doing this challenge and raising much needed funds I might just be able to help someone else in trouble.
So please jump in and support me if you can.
All funds raised will help young people feel better about today and the future, no matter what challenge they're facing.
Three weeks down - one to go ………
My third week of swimming saw me in South Australia where the water temperatures were at best 18 degrees and at worse 14 degrees – so freezing!
But I’m doing this for Dylan so I swum every day.
And I’m sure it was good for me but my time in the water was significantly less than weeks 1 & 2.
But I’m still going and still needing your support.
I’ve been shocked and saddened talking to many young people in the last 3 weeks and it seems that suicide is a common word in their vocabulary.
It was not in my day.
My family have been devastated by suicide and I’m swimming and fundraising as hard as I can to try and make a difference – however small..
ReachOut offers a safe place for young people to chat anonymously, get support and feel better 😊
So once again I sincerely thank all of you that have donated – you are wonderful and I hope I’ve thanked you all personally.
