Swimming is tough, but what they go through is tougher

As a parent, I have experienced multiple highs with my kids, but also the lows. Sadly, nothing comes close to the lowest of lows; the helplessness of seeing your kids struggle with mental health and feeling there is no way out.
From days where they are just flat, to the extreme of self-harm and suicide ideation, what they go through is turbulent, hard, and to them, isolating.
Sadly, suicide is the leading cause of death for young people in Australia! I want to change this because, each year more young people die by suicide than in car accidents or from cancer. IT HAS TO CHANGE. I am passionate about this in more ways than I can tell you.
This March, I'm swimming to make sure young people in Australia have the mental health support they urgently need. I hate swimming. I am competent, but I find it tough. But nothing is as tough as what they go through. If they can do it, so can I.
By sponsoring my challenge, you’ll be helping to prevent youth suicide and raising awareness and conversation around something truly important.
