Deadly Laps

My why

Why did I sign up for this challenge? In April 2000 my brother William entered the dreamtime. He decided that he couldn't do it anymore. He was 2 months off turning 18. Mental Health is such a complex world for so many people, their families and the wider community. Knowing how many young people are taking their lives is heartbreaking. We need to bring mental health to all out converstions and normailse talking opening about how we are feeling, seeking support and checking in on our young ones is all it takes. I also have to own and open up about my own struggles. Being an active person who has been recovering after knee surgery, I sometimes struggl to pull myself out of some dark places. So getting in the pool to do some laps is goinf to be something NEW so really stepping out of my comfort zone. I hardly step foot in a pool and haven't had a fitness routine since August last year so don't bag the begginer status hahaha Check out my brothers pic...Gee I miss him so much 🫶

We’re swimming to save lives

Did you know suicide is the leading cause of death for young people in Australia?

That means that each year more young people die by suicide than in car accidents or from cancer.

This March, we’re swimming to make sure young people in Australia have the mental health support they urgently need.

By sponsoring our challenge, you’ll be helping to prevent youth suicide.

All funds raised will help young people feel better about today and the future, no matter what challenge they're facing.

Our Impact

So far this year we helped provide...

0
