Happy birthday bailey

Today we just want to take the time to wish our Bailey a 🎉Happy heavenly 18th Birthday. 🎂 Today you would have been an adult. Today you should be here celebrating. Today's like yesterday you are loved. Today like forever you'll be missed❤️. Party hard up there Bailey. Baileys memory is at the centre of this year's fundraiser. Bailey lost her fight with her mental health last year (2024).

4 Hours Apart, But Always Together

Tannar and I may live 4 hours apart, but if he ever needs me, I’d be there in a heartbeat.

As a family, we’ve been through a lot, and it hasn’t always been easy, but we’re incredibly grateful to have each other.

But not everyone is so lucky.

Youth mental health is a crisis that hits close to home—studies show nearly 1 in 5 young people face mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, and isolation. That’s why events like Laps for Life are so crucial. They’re not just about swimming laps—they’re about building a community, raising awareness, and ensuring that every young person knows they’re not alone.

We’re taking on this challenge because we want to help change the story. We believe that everyone deserves someone to lean on, someone to check in on them when life gets tough.

So, take a moment today—message a family member or a friend and ask how they’re doing. That simple act could mean the world to someone.

If you can, please consider supporting our Laps for Life challenge. Every bit helps make a difference.

We’re swimming to save lives

We’re Charlee Free and Tannar Gill—siblings, best friends, and a little bit chaotic (thanks, ADHD). This March, we’re teaming up for Laps for Life because youth mental health matters.

Did you know that suicide is the leading cause of death for young people in Australia? More lives are lost to suicide each year than to car accidents or cancer. That heartbreaking reality is why we’re swimming to raise awareness and help young people who are struggling.

This cause is deeply personal to us. We’ve faced our own mental health challenges, and we’ve lost people we love. I want to make sure no one else has to go through that darkness alone.

Tannar is just 13, and he didn’t have to do this—but he chose to. He understands how important mental health is, and he wants to help as much as he can. Not everyone has an older sibling to confide in, someone who can guide them through tough times. We want to make sure that young people who don’t have that support know there are others out there fighting for them. Because everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and cared for—especially when the world feels like it’s closing in.

This isn't just about swimming—it's about creating a world where every young person knows that there is hope, help, and support. Where mental health isn't something, we ignore, but something we prioritize and fight for.

By sponsoring our swim, you’ll be helping prevent youth suicide and providing critical mental health support for young Australians. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference.

Together, we can turn the tide on youth mental health.

If you can, please sponsor our challenge and be part of something that truly saves lives.
