Why I swim
I’m swimming this March because too many young lives are lost to suicide. Every lap I swim will help make sure there’s a safe place for young people to turn when life feels overwhelming.
I'm swimming to save lives
Mental health affects us in more ways than one. It can feel heavy, overwhelming, and at times out of our control. That why his March, I’m swimming for something that means more than just laps in the pool. I’m taking part in Laps for Life to raise money for ReachOut 🤍
Mental health is something I’ve struggled with personally, and it’s also something that has deeply impacted my life, I’ve also lost friends to suicide. The heartache left behind is indescribable, the “what ifs,” the moments you wish you could go back to, the conversations left unsaid.
Having those hard conversations can be tough, but when we come together, support each other, it can make all the difference even if it’s just giving someone one more day.
Knowing there are organisations like ReachOut, providing support to young people when they need it most, gives me hope. Every lap I swim is for those we’ve lost, for those still fighting, and for those who need someone to listen.
So I’ll be swimming to make a difference.
