Why I swim
This March I’m swimming 15km to raise money for youth mental health services. This cause is very close to my heart. I am swimming in memory of my friend Jayne. In 2016 I travelled through Morocco and England with Jayne. In 2019, we lost her to suicide. Jayne was funny, incredibly kind-hearted, and extremely modest 😉. Each day in Australia, one person dies by suicide, and it remains the leading cause of death for young people aged 14–25. As a teacher, I have witnessed first hand the impacts of mental health struggles for young people. This year I’ll be swimming alongside an amazing team — Eve and Clare — and I’d love your support if you’re able to give. Every bit helps raise awareness and fund vital mental health services for young people. 💙
