Why I swim
I’m swimming because far too many young lives are lost to suicide. Many of us can agree that life gets overwhelming sometimes, I’ve faced my own battles with mental health, endured moments so heavy that smiling felt impossible but I found the strength to heal, to find even the smallest light. To acknowledge there is always a silver lining. I want other young people to know they are not alone, that there is a place where they can be heard, supported, and safe and to truly know that no problem is too small. Emotional exhaustion is truly a thing, and that comes from bottling things up. Every lap I swim in Laps for Life is more than just a stroke - it’s a reminder that help exists, that connections can be made, and that healing is possible. By supporting this fundraiser, you’re helping keep those lifelines open for anyone who needs them - so that no one has to face their struggles in silence. 💙
I'm swimming to save lives
Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people in Australia.
More than 1 in 3 are experiencing mental health difficulties, yet over a million are not getting the support they need.
ReachOut provides anonymous, free and 100% online services so young people can find a safe place to connect, share and get help when life feels overwhelming.
I’m taking part in Laps for Life to make sure these vital services are always there. Please donate to my fundraiser and help more young people get the support they deserve.
