🥉This week I was very happy to complete my first 3k. 🏊🏻‍♂️ Arrived at MSAC on Tuesday at 6.30am only to be told it was closed for 1 week due to the F1 GP. The closest 50m pool was Prarhan which I tried for the 1st time and has a good vibe. Started effort asthma after 350m which was frustrating but I kwpt on until 700m. Could we really those leg muscles (or lack of!) the next night! 🏊🏻‍♂️On Thursday I came back and after a puff of Ventoline I did 1km. Was great to feel the endorphins while I passed the 800m, giving me a mix of analgesia and euphoria, loved it. Quite some traffic when going back home so I need to get there and back as early as possible. 🏊🏻‍♂️On Saturday it was pretty tough to get moving. Shouldn’t have drunk 2 glasses the previous night, 1 is enough. I was happy to beat that voice that was telling me to give up. Did 1.3k and enjoyed that cocktail of dopamine and serotonin that rewards us after a good swim. Plus I realized I was not far by foot from the Prahran Market and I was parked on a 4P at the swimming pool so I treated myself a massive avo on toast with my favourite Earl Grey before heading to the market. 🧘🏻‍♂️I haven’t explained why I’m doing Laps 4 Life and only collected 2 donations so far but that’s fine, we’ve got time. l really enjoyed the journey so far and look forward to the rest of the month. Keep on sharing your stories, they help build the motivation ! This month I'm swimming 10km to help change that. By sponsoring my challenge, you'll be directly supporting young people in need. Your donation can provide vital mental health services and help save lives.
