Compassion in action

I'm 2/3 towards my swimming goal🩵

Ive been swimming my heart out so others hearts keep beating. Last week I swam the logest ever in one swim being 2.25 kilometres which was 90 laps. It took me just under 2 hours.. I rested over the weekend and went back yesterday at a different pool and though the water was a little chilly and my ear hurt and head spun like crazy I managed another 1.5 km .The only thing that stopped the centre feel like oit was spinning was to keep myself swimming so thats what I did. Im now at 10.30 Km in total. Please donate to this cause. Your generosity helps give our youth a fighting chance with support at no cost whern they need it. 🥰Your donations are tax deductable and go straight to Reachout Australia. 👉 Im almost at my goal of 15km in Laps but the fundraising goal has stalled at $788. 😭 I'd be so greatful if you could please share this page.🙏🙏 🫶 Can you please help? 🙌 Who can you share this page with and ask them to donate and then ask them to share with someone else? www.lapsforlife.com.au/fundraisers/RobertsrippleEffect If they dont have FB you can share the QR code on the page listed above or just the page which has various easy options for people to donate. Heres some fun facts about Hearts: 🩵 Gender differences: A woman’s heart beats faster than a man’s, and a newborn's heart beats between 70 and 190 times per minute, significantly faster than an adult's 60–100 bpm. 💚Immense Energy: The heart produces enough daily energy to drive a truck 20 miles. Over a lifetime, that’s enough to travel to the moon and back. 💛 Fastest and Slowest: The fairy fly has the smallest heart, while the American pygmy shrew has the fastest, beating at 1,200 times per minute. #laps4life2026 #SwimToSaveLives #YouthSuicide #mentalhealthmatters

Second swim today

I had a time limit today so I wasn't able to get in as many laps as I would have liked. Having said that I don't think I could have pushed much further, maybe 4 - 6 laps max veeery veeery slowly 🤣 I'm still feeling the effects of Mondays swim. Today I swam 20 "up and downs"often called 20 "laps," which equals 40 "lengths" of the pool. Now I just need to figure out how to get the cap to stay on my head instead of feeling it sliding and then popping off mid lap 🤭 I'll try take a pic before or after my next swim.

First day swimming in march

March has come around so quickly!! I had wanted to train and prepare myself as I know how much of a detrimental impact swimming has on my vestibular system. I bought a swimming snorkel I had wanted to practice with but my body hasn't been cooperating for the majority of February. My neurologist had said no swimming at my last appointment but it's been around 3 months and / well this is something tangible I can do to make a difference, so I'm going for it! I'm just going to say if I can eventually manage even 5 minutes of swimming with that snorkel without gagging it will be a miracle.😂 I swam my heart out this afternoon. The woman in the lane next to me gave me a few odd looks. Probably due to my bright red almost purple face and heavy breathing.🏊‍♀️💨🤭 I pushed myself as I always do but pushed a little harder today, testing my current limits. 12 months ago I wouldn't have been able to swim a full lap. 6 months ago swimming a few laps would have me slowly shuffling out of the pool and unable to drive home afterwards. Today I swam 1.8 km which is 36 full laps ( a lap is usually swimming to the other end and back) or 72 back and forths! Yay 🙌🥳😊
