Roberts Ripple Effect

Why I swim

I’m swimming this March because too many young lives are lost to suicide. Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people in Australia. More than 1 in 3 experience mental health difficulties yet over a million people aren't getting the help they need. 🏊‍♂️ Every lap I swim will help make sure there’s a free, safe place for young people to turn when life feels overwhelming. Sadly my little brother Robert pictured above didn't have this when he ended his life at 15 yrs old. Your donation will make a difference to others ❣️ ❣️ Please give generously because every young person deserves to live a full life, to have hope and to have the resources freely and easily available to them if they need it. ***** ⚠️⚠️TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️⚠️***** How I wish my Brother had someone to turn to back then who actually cared and had the expertise to help him. I was a teen living away from the family "home" and the adults in his life weren't healthy or safe people to be around. He died alone in a park in the middle of the night on mothers day.. 😭 ❣️🙏 ❣️Please give generously in memory of my beautiful brother Robert and to help other young people access support to live the full thriving lives they deserve.❣️🙏❣️

Swimmer
And I'm swimming to acknowledge & honour all the other brother's and sister's, nieces & nephews that also lost their lives due to suicide. 👉 I want every young person to know "You are Amazing❣️" , "You Are loved and valued❣️" and "You have so much that only your unique beautiful self can give to this world❣️".  👉 I'm swimming  specifically for you, pushing through a debilitating neurological condition that will leave me dizzy, struggling to walk when I get out of the pool and often after swimming I need to be horizontal with limited sensory input and EVERY single one of you are worth it. 💜💜💜 👉Every lap I swim & every time my head spins in the pool and out of it, I will be thinking of my brother and all the other brothers and sisters and young people out there who need our support.🥰 I don't want any young person or any person to feel like life has nothing for you or that nobody cares because I DO❣️ 💜💜 Please pledge a donation to show our youth how much we love them, How much we value them in our lives, in our communities, and in our homes and our futures. 💜💜 Together we CAN make a difference.🤗🏊‍♀️
