Why I swim
I’m swimming this March because too many young lives are lost to suicide. Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people in Australia. More than 1 in 3 experience mental health difficulties yet over a million people aren't getting the help they need. 🏊♂️ Every lap I swim will help make sure there’s a free, safe place for young people to turn when life feels overwhelming. Sadly my little brother Robert pictured above didn't have this when he ended his life at 15 yrs. Your donation will make a difference to others ❣️ ❣️ Please give generously because every young person deserves to live a full life, to have hope and to have the resources freely and easily available to them if they need it. ***** ⚠️⚠️TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️⚠️***** How I wish my Brother had someone to turn to back then who actually cared and had the expertise to help him. I was a teen living away from the family "home" and the adults in his life weren't healthy or safe people to be around. He died alone in a park in the middle of the night on mothers day.. 😭 ❣️🙏 ❣️Please give generously in memory of my beautiful brother Robert and to help other young people access support to live the full thriving lives they deserve.❣️🙏❣️
I'm swimming in honour of my 15 yr old brother robert and to raise awareness & save lives. ✨
And I'm swimming to acknowledge & honour all the other brother's and sister's, nieces & nephews that also lost their lives due to suicide. My Swim Progress
