Why I swim

I’m swimming this March because I’ve seen firsthand how important mental health support truly is. Everyone deserves a safe space to speak, to be heard and to feel supported without judgement. If swimming a few laps can help create that space for someone, it’s worth it.

Swimmer

Suicide is still the leading cause of death for young people in Australia and more than 1 in 3 are struggling with their mental health. I’ve seen firsthand how real and close to home these challenges can be and how powerful it is when someone has a safe space to speak openly.

That’s why I’m swimming in Laps for Life to support ReachOut Australia.

They provide free, anonymous online support so young people can connect, be heard and get help when life feels overwhelming. Not everyone feels comfortable talking face to face and having a space that feels safe can make all the difference.

I’m doing this because everyone deserves to feel supported, not alone.

If you’re able to donate, you’ll be helping make sure that support is always there for the young people who need it most.
