My Updates
Day 20: limits
I was initially really upset when my body told me it couldn’t take any more - but I’m actually super proud of myself for reaching my limit - and even more proud for stopping. I’ve actually been carrying a cold half this month, my lungs were wheezing, my heart was heavy, and on my last turn I nodded off for a split second. I tried another lap and just felt like I was sinking with every stroke. I literally had nothing left. when I was young I absolutely shattered my body because I didn’t know when to stop, and this whole journey has helped me realise that I just throw myself too hard at things. I didn’t fail, I swam 30/31kms in 19 days. that’s insane on top of all my other restrictions and commitments. super proud of myself and grateful for my wife who allowed me to rest. the point isn’t to destroy yourself, it’s to explore meaningful experiences, and that’s something everyone can do - and I’ve done my bit now to show the way for those in trouble. if you’re inspired, donate! Day 19: functions
The body is such a complicated system of variables, it takes a really long time of paying attention to what it responds well to - to get the most out of it. im still trying to optimise my movement, nutrition, breath work, meditation, concentration and recovery. I try take one measured step foreward every day, and ive come such a long way now i look back, you can too! Share
Day 5: the breath
Your thoughts determine your feelings, and your feelings change the way you breathe. fortunately, if you focus on your breath and learn how to guide it, it can also work for you in reverse. emotions are a little stickier than thoughts, so if you can maintain peace with a steady breath, it’s really easy to notice how thoughts come and go. if you’re not aware of your mind, it can be difficult to get ‘unstuck’ sometimes. but you will! keep striving Share
