Swim For Mon

First swim!!

Today was my first day back in the pool since having my baclofen pump surgery and my first day raising funds to help young people like Mon get the help they need. I was quite nervous getting back in the pool and I will admit that I also wasn’t that motivated to get in but once I did I had lots of fun. I also got to swim with my gorgeous girlfriend Holly.

Swimming in honour of Mon

Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people in Australia.

More than 1 in 3 are experiencing mental health difficulties, yet over a million are not getting the support they need.

ReachOut provides anonymous, free and 100% online services so young people can find a safe place to connect, share and get help when life feels overwhelming.

I’m taking part in Laps for Life to try and prevent people from taking their lives because my friend Monique tried so hard to reach out but nobody helped her.

Monique was a massive advocate for the autistic community and had a huge following on social media (Autism101), Monique was a great person and I was lucky enough to call her my friend and I miss her everyday. So if I can help someone from taking their life and getting the right help I’ll do it.

Please donate to my fundraiser and help more young people get the support they deserve.
