Woohoo sunshine

Sunshine, no calf cramps, and the flippers are finally starting to feel like friends instead of tiny torture devices. My watch had a little meltdown after 100m (same, mate), but after the classic turn it off and on again trick, we were back in business. Total today: 525 metres — just over half a kilometre done and dusted! 💪 Bonus moments: ☀️ Sunshine instead of rain 👋 Celebrity appearance from Beth at the end 🏍️ Jackson rode past on his motorbike… did he stop to say hello? No. But he did stop at the pool, so I’m counting it. Another day, another swim towards supporting youth mental health through Laps for Life. Every lap counts 🫶

Calf protest day 🤣

The resilient Mermaid is back 🌧 Day 3 of March. 🌧 Day 3 of rain. 🏊‍♀️ Day 3 of Laps for Life. Did I smash 1km today? Nope. Did I still get in a 50-metre outdoor pool, in the rain, with brand new flippers that tried to assassinate my calves? Absolutely yes. 400 metres today. Plus some very glamorous walking laps because my calves decided to stage a protest. Apparently my legs were like, “Ma’am… we were not consulted about these flippers.” Major calf cramps. Slight ego check. But we adapt. Still showed up. Still moved. Still supporting youth mental health. And honestly? That’s what this challenge is about. Not perfection. Not ego. Not smashing PBs every single day. It’s about consistency. It’s about doing something. It’s about making waves for a cause that matters. Also… 27 degrees in the water? Basically spa vibes. I wasn’t suffering THAT much 😜 400 metres in the wet. Outdoor 50m pool (which is a whole different beast). Day 3 done. Rain can’t stop me. Crampy calves can’t stop me. We keep going. Donate, share, or jump in with Kate and I if you’re keen 💙 #LapsForLife #StillShowedUp #RainOrShine #MakingWaves #ThisGirlIsOnFire

Day 2

🌧 It’s raining. The sky is crying. And I thought… cool story bro, I’m getting wet anyway. Day ✌️ of Laps for Life done and dusted — another 1KM in the bag 💦 How am I smashing out a kilometre on DAY TWO? Absolutely no idea. Was I this motivated last month? Also no idea. Are we rolling with it? Bloody oath we are. We’re swimming to help prevent youth suicide. This isn’t about abs. This isn’t about pace. This is about showing up. Rain outside. Water inside. Doesn’t matter — I was getting wet either way 😜

Day 1 done!

I had back surgery last year and wasnt expecting to do too much. But I ended up smashing out 1km today. Already 20% of my goal for the month done 🥰
