Why I swim
This March I’m swimming 10km for ReachOut! Holy shit, 10 kms! Throughout my mental health journey, I've been really lucky and privileged to be able to seek professional support. Heaps of people don't have that opportunity so I am fundraising to make sure there’s a safe place for young people to turn when life feels overwhelming. No young person should ever feel so alone or overwhelmed that suicide seems like their only way out. I am so glad ReachOut! can support these kids in those moments of hopelessness. In the spirit of being, well, me, please know there is no expectation of a donation and no judgement on your contribution. Do not put yourself in financial distress!!!!!! If you can send me an encouraging word, $2 or something bigger, all is welcome and appreciated. Think of me! I am a slow lane swimmer so this will also be a big physical challenge! And finally, I am inspired by my Dad and Papa who were both legendary Movember fundraisers and would love that I am doing this!
