Why I swim

This March, I’m diving into Laps for Life to raise funds and awareness for youth mental health. Every lap I swim will help ensure there’s a safe space for young people to turn when life feels overwhelming. The first time I took part in Laps for Life, it was about giving back — because swimming makes me feel good, and because I wanted to support those who are struggling. This year, it’s also personal. I’m facing my own challenges, and getting back in the pool is part of how I’ll take care of myself. The water has always been a place of calm, strength, and clarity for me. Knowing that each lap I swim can help someone else find their way through tough times gives me extra purpose and motivation to keep going. If you’re able to, please support my swim or share my page — together, we can make a difference for young people who need a helping hand.

Swimmer

Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people in Australia.

More than 1 in 3 are experiencing mental health difficulties, yet over a million are not getting the support they need.

ReachOut provides anonymous, free and 100% online services so young people can find a safe place to connect, share and get help when life feels overwhelming.

I’m taking part in Laps for Life to make sure these vital services are always there. Please donate to my fundraiser and help more young people get the support they deserve.
