Why I swim
This March, I’m swimming because we’re losing too many young lives to suicide, and I refuse to stand by and do nothing. Every lap is for a young person who feels like it’s all too much, to help make sure there’s a safe, non‑judgmental place to turn when life becomes overwhelming, and to remind them they are not alone.

Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people in Australia. More than 1 in 3 are experiencing mental health difficulties, yet over a million are not getting the support they need.
As someone who’s had my own struggles with mental health, I know how much it can mean to have somewhere safe to turn when everything feels too heavy. ReachOut provides anonymous, free and 100% online services so young people can find a safe place to connect, share and get help when life feels overwhelming.
I’m taking part in Laps for Life to help make sure these vital services are always there for the next young person who needs them. Please donate to my fundraiser and help more young people get the support they deserve.
