Why I swim
My name is Paul Peers-Barlow, and I’m taking on a personal challenge that means a great deal to me: swimming more than 3 kilometres every single day to raise funds for youth suicide prevention and mental health support. This is something I’m deeply committed to, because mental health affects so many of us — our families, our friends, and our communities — both here in Australia and around the world. I want to commit to this as a way of making a small difference- this is a way of acknowledging loved ones in my life … that we all matter and are valued and validated. I believe strongly in looking out for one another and offering support where we can. Any donation, no matter how big or small, would truly mean the world to me and will go toward making a real difference in young people’s lives. Thank you so much for your kindness, encouragement, and support — I’m incredibly grateful. With love and appreciation, Paul 🩵🪷
I'm swimming to save lives
Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people in Australia.
More than 1 in 3 are experiencing mental health difficulties, yet over a million are not getting the support they need.
ReachOut provides anonymous, free and 100% online services so young people can find a safe place to connect, share and get help when life feels overwhelming.
I’m taking part in Laps for Life to make sure these vital services are always there. Please donate to my fundraiser and help more young people get the support they deserve.
