Why I swim
This March, I’m swimming for my younger self; and for every person who is struggling or has struggled. Too many young lives are lost to suicide. Every lap I swim will help ensure there’s a safe, supportive place for young people to turn when life feels overwhelming.
I'm swimming to save lives
As a teenager, I struggled with my mental health and even felt suicidal. I know how isolating and overwhelming it can feel when life seems too heavy to bear.
That’s why this cause is so important to me. Suicide remains the leading cause of death among young people in Australia, and more than 1 in 3 are experiencing mental health difficulties, yet over a million aren’t getting the support they need.
ReachOut provides free, anonymous, 100% online services where young people can find a safe space to connect, share, and get help when things feel unbearable.
I’m taking part in Laps for Life to make sure these vital services are always there. Please donate to my fundraiser and help more young people get the support they deserve, because no one should have to face this alone.
