Join our Laps for Life Swim Team – 5 Years, $100,000 Raised, One Powerful Community

This year marks our 5th year as a Canberra community swim team, and together we’ve raised over $100,000 for suicide prevention.

Our team reflects the community that love the art-deco jewel that is Manuka Pool — and everyone is welcome.

We swim with:
• seasoned lap warriors chasing PBs
• brand-new swimmers finding their confidence
• triathletes, ocean swimmers and masters athletes
• kids and young people from sporting squads
• parents squeezing in dawn or dusk laps
• shift-workers swimming between commitments
• recreational splash-and-chat swimmers
• people who know every tile of the pool
• people who haven’t swum in years but want to be part of something meaningful

Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people in Australia.

More than 1 in 3 are experiencing mental-health difficulties — yet over one million aren’t getting the support they need.

That’s why we swim.

Through Laps for Life, we raise funds for ReachOut, which provides free, anonymous and 100% online support so young people can connect, share and get help when life feels overwhelming.

Our season builds to a fun Canberra tradition — a 24-hour continuous swim at Manuka Pool on the final weekend of the season. Everyone contributes a few laps (or a few hundred!) so the water never goes quiet.

Then, in March 2026, we’ll all track our laps for the official Laps for Life count — turning every stroke into tangible impact.
