Why I swim
I’m swimming this March because too many young lives are lost to suicide. Every lap I swim will help make sure there’s a safe place for young people to turn when life feels overwhelming.
I'm swimming to save lives
More than 1 in 3 young people in Australia experience mental health difficulties. Suicide is the leading cause of death for 14–24-year-olds. I signed up to take part in Laps for Life to raise funds for youth mental health through ReachOut Australia. 💙 As I continue to navigate my own mental health struggles, I am deeply passionate about helping young people know their worth, tap into their courage, build their self-belief, find and share their voices and feel empowered to make a difference in the 🌍. Supporting youth mental health is my first goal, but helping friends and families learn how to walk with someone is just as important. I know first hand how friendships can be lost because people don’t know what to say or how to walk alongside them — and when that happens, the people you thought would be there can quietly disappear, making an already hard experience even more isolating. Even $2 can make a difference. Please help if you can 💙🏊♀️My Swim Progress
