Why I swim
Most people know me as a pretty bubbly, positive person always smiling, laughing, and trying to bring good energy wherever I go. What a lot of people don’t see is that sometimes the brightest smiles are carrying the heaviest stories. This March, I’m taking on 150km as part of Laps for Life 💙 A cause that has become incredibly close to my heart. In 2022, I went through one of the darkest moments of my life and tried to take my own life. No one knows this, and I’ve carried it quietly ever since. What I do know now is that surviving that moment didn’t break me it shaped me, strengthened me, and helped me become the person I am today. I share this not for sympathy, but for honesty. Because mental health struggles don’t always look the way people expect. Sometimes they look like laughter. Sometimes they look like kindness. Sometimes they look like someone who keeps showing up, even when it’s hard. That’s why this challenge matters so much to me. Over the month of March, I’ll be swimming 150km with the goal of raising $2,000 to support youth mental health and suicide prevention. Every dollar raised helps make sure young people feel supported, heard, and less alone especially during moments when they might feel like there’s no way forward. Some days the laps will feel easy. Some days they’ll feel really tough. But every single kilometre is for anyone who has ever felt overwhelmed, unseen, or unsure if things will get better. If you’re able to donate, share this post, or simply send a bit of love my way, I would be so grateful. Thank you for being part of this journey and for helping me turn something painful into something hopeful 💙 Let’s keep showing up for each other.

My Updates
Update
A few people may have noticed that I’ve dropped my distance goal for 💙 Laps for Life. I wanted to be open about that, because challenges like this aren’t always as simple as setting a goal and smashing it without any bumps along the way. I’ve had to take my health seriously and really listen to my body, and that meant adjusting the distance. It definitely wasn’t an easy decision, but it was the right one. The reality is some days I make it to the pool feeling strong and ready to go, and other days it’s a real push just to get there. There are even days where I don’t make it at all. But that doesn’t mean I stop. It just means the next time I’m there, I make up for it and put in the extra laps. Because this challenge was never just about the kilometres. It’s about commitment, consistency, and showing up for something bigger than yourself. The hard days are part of the journey, and honestly they’re what make the challenge worth it. We all know that health and looking after yourself has to come first, and that’s something I’ll always stand by. Seeing the support behind this has been incredible. We’re currently sitting at $572 raised, and I’m so grateful for every single person who has donated, shared, or even just cheered me on along the way. Every lap I swim and every dollar raised is helping support young people and remind them that they’re not alone. And that’s something worth showing up for, every single time 💙 ShareThank you to my
