Why I swim
I'm swimming this march for all of the people like me. So that more people can get the chance to get professional help. I'm also swimming this march to raise awareness for those who are too afraid to speak out, for those who struggle with every day life (like in school, work, or anything in general), because every person deserves to be heard no matter what others may say. And that is why i am swimming this March
I'm swimming to save lives
Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people in Australia.
More than 1 in 3 are experiencing mental health difficulties, yet over a million are not getting the support they need.
ReachOut provides anonymous, free and 100% online services so young people can find a safe place to connect, share and get help when life feels overwhelming.
I’m taking part in Laps for Life to make sure these vital services are always there. Please donate to my fundraiser and help more young people get the support they deserve.

My Updates
Rreached my swimming goal of 10 kilometres
I am so very happy at myself for being able to reach a full 10 kilometres in exactly 10 swimming sessions. it has been an amazing time swimming and getting the wonderful ability to be able to talk to people and spread the word about what im doing, what it's for, and help raise money for the people that need it most. as of now (the 26th of March) I have 1-2 swimming sessions left before I finish my laps for life journey this year. I hope that people take the time to understand that this matters an awful lot. people need a chance to live a life that they deserve and should cherish close to their heart. -Jess Share
First day of swimming!
Hi! its me, Jess (Tanya's daughter) For those of you who are unaware, I am participating in this year's laps for life. it is a program to raise money for young people's mental health and more (I would really appreciate if anyone could donate) so that young people can have a chance for their voices to be heard and not to suffocate them. today marks the first day of me swimming (due to myself having caught an annoying head cold and the terrible weather we have unfortunately had) and I am already feeling good for doing so. please support my journey for laps for life.
