Why I swim

I am choosing to swim in laps for life this march because I had a childhood friend who committed suicide due to bullying and not receiving the assistance he needed, I also have a family member who attempted to commit suicide a few years back luckily this family member was unsuccessful and when I was younger I struggled with mental health and tried to commit suicide myself because I didn't know where to go or who to turn to or what I needed at the time so this is a very important cause for me. If I can help even a little bit then I will.

Swimmer

Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people in Australia.

More than 1 in 3 are experiencing mental health difficulties, yet over a million are not getting the support they need.

ReachOut provides anonymous, free and 100% online services so young people can find a safe place to connect, share and get help when life feels overwhelming.

I’m taking part in Laps for Life to make sure these vital services are always there. Please donate to my fundraiser and help more young people get the support they deserve.
