Why I swim
I’m swimming this March because too many lives are lost to suicide. Every lap I swim will help make sure there’s a safe place for young people to turn when life feels overwhelming.
I'm swimming to save lives
Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people in Australia.
More than 1 in 3 are experiencing mental health difficulties, yet over a million are not getting the support they need.
ReachOut provides anonymous, free and 100% online services so young people can find a safe place to connect, share and get help when life feels overwhelming.
I’m taking part in Laps for Life to make sure these vital services are always there. Please donate to my fundraiser and help more young people get the support they deserve.

Swimming all over the countryside to make my goal
I went to visit my daughter, Sami, in Canberra this past weekend and we enjoyed a few shows at The Canberra Comedy Festival. so as not to fall behind in my swimming I packed my cossie. swam a few laps at Moss Vale War Memorial Pool (25 m indoor pool) and did some more at Dickson Olympic Pool in Canberra. Both pools had lovely clean facilities and pools. given it is also getting cooler neither were very busy. after my swim this morning back at Drummoyne Pool I now only have 5 km to go to achieve my swim goal. I also only have $160 left to achieve my fundraising goal so if you are thinking of supporting me and donating there are just 9 days to go. any amount will be gratefully received.
