I was first diagnosed with depression, anxiety and an eating disorder at 14, ADHD at 15, and autism at 19. For years, I struggled without knowing where to turn or who to talk to. I felt incredibly alone, and at 16 I was hospitalized after trying to take my own life. Through that experience, I found help. I found resources, and I found people who felt the same way I did. That’s why mental health matters so much to me. It isn’t talked about enough, and too often people are told to stay quiet, until it becomes too late for some. Talking matters. Sharing your feelings, even daily, helps us regulate, feel seen, and connect with others. It’s okay to not feel okay all the time. You are valid, and you matter. However you’re feeling big or small it matters.
