This March, I’m challenging myself to swim to save lives.
This initiative was introduced in my workplace as I was grieving for a close friend who had been suffering severe mental health issues. After watching so many loved ones struggle, and learning to manage my own anxiety this was something I felt would be a really important and significant fundraiser to participate in. And of course, as a swimming instructor im passionate about young people and swimming and water safety, so this cause is incredibly close to my heart for many reasons.
I’m so honoured to participate and be part of a workplace that supports initiatives like this. Now more than ever, as young people cope with the pandemic and the growing pressure of daily life mental health awareness is so important.
If you would like to sponsor myself and my team to swim as many laps as we can for life this march, it would be greatly appreciated! Every little bit counts.
Please reach out if you ever need.
Much love, Gabs xx
Did you know that suicide is the leading cause of death for young people in Australia? That means that each year, more young people die by suicide than in car accidents or from cancer.
By sponsoring my participation in Laps for Life, you'll be helping ReachOut achieve its mission of ensuring that all young people have the support they need to be happy and well.
