Why I swim
I swim an insane amount of laps, even without this challenge, because I have come to realise just how much it helps me physically and mentally. I'll be pushing my lap swimming that little bit extra through March to help with this really important cause. Youth suicide is something I've personally been affected by several times, and I want to do EVERYTHING I can to help vulnerable young people. UPDATE 21/3/26: I have already hit the original 50km target that I set for this challenge, so I'm upping it to 70km (which will be a record for me!). I'm also aiming to finish in the top 100 swimmers on the Laps for Life distance leaderboard. UPDATE 25/3/26: I'm just about at 70km so I'm bumping my goal up to 80km, and I'm also on track to finishing in the top 50 swimmers nationwide. I was ranked #45 when I finished my 4km swim today (which came on top of a 5km swim yesterday and a 4km swim the day before that).
