Why I swim

I’m swimming this March because too many young lives are lost to suicide. Every lap I swim will help make sure there’s a safe place for young people to turn when life feels overwhelming.

At 15, I won the open 200m backstroke Queensland Championships. Prior to, and well after that major achievement, I achieved multiple Gold medals at both State and National level but long after the laps were done, the emotional scars of  sexual and physical abuse during my youth, still remained. Now, swimming Laps for Life, I’m turning that pain into purpose—helping ensure that no one facing trauma feels alone, and that support is there when it’s needed.If you’d like to support this cause, every donation brings hope and helps ensure no one swims through these challenges alone.
