My original goal was 14kms. Today I completed 22kms! I fell short of the 25kms I set as am ambitious target. In my defence the local pool closed for the storm and with school training etc, my schedule was not ideal. That said, $650 raised 👏 so much appreciated! next year I will do better! 😊

Dwe to severe weather warnings my local pool is closed this weekend 😑 Monday and Tuesday I need to push out 2.5km each to reach my 25km March goal! With the fund-raiser goal so close, please donate today and help us grow the support base that saves young lives! 🙏🏼

The claim before the storm

Boyup Brook is bone dry so we all are eagerly, somewhat nervously awaiting the change of season rain 🌧 Beautiful swim today, but the rain is definitely on its way. Fingers crossed 🤞 it's a jolly good drink, without too much drama!

Not getting easier

A bit cramped today, 60 Laps was absolutely my limit. I think I need some magnesium to fight off cramped. Strangely it is happening in my right foot and calf area?

Slipped a bit behind, but 25kms by 31st still doable!

I have had a busy time away from the pool, but if I push 60 laps a day I can still get there! Your support is inspiring me on! 😊

Pushing through to 15kms

Today is important, 1.5km done this early morning, and this afternoon the challenge will be to smash out 1.5kms more! That's 120 Laps of a 25m pool! 🤪 15kms 10 to go is today's goal! Thanks for your support. 🙏🏼 UPDATE: Done! 60 in Boyup 60 in Bridgetown 😊

I'm starting to feel the result's 😊

The mornings are getting darker, cooler, but my resolve only grows stronger! 💪 Let's push through and try for 25kms by March 31! Raising funds for such a worthy cause has alot of upside! Thanks so much to those who have supported me so far. 🙏🏼

Friday 13th march smashing it!

WEllis, get there! 1st single session 60 laps or 1.5kms! Slight cramp so I decided to pull up. I will try for another 60 later in the day! 😊

Time to step it up!

Feeling great 👍 think I might push out to 2km a day on training day. 2 x 1km or for my little pool 80 lengths! I am feeling like I am just warming up after 40, which is a good buzz!

Big day

I travelled to the coast yesterday, did 20 lengths of a 50m pool and swum a 1km stretch of beautiful beach front! Stunning day!

Its on

Today is the 4th and today I will step things up, or in this case swim 🏊‍♂️ things up! 2x 1km sessions! I would be so happy if you could support me by supporting Laps for Life!

Today I was on the road. That said, I still managed to stop off in Bunbury for a rare 20 lengths of the 50m pool. Nice facilities, but I do love our wee 25m pool in Boyup Brook 😊

1st March bring it on! I intend to smash out 20kms during March but if my target is smashed early 🙃 I am open to pushing for ... 😊

Without limits

I'm 62 in March and cliche as it is, age really is a number! I have had my ups and downs, but the true gift I was given in life has been unrelenting optimism! Resilience isn't a given however, resilience must be built, must be earned! We all so need to roll up, dig deep and build it, today more than ever! Have a great day!
