Why I swim
I’m swimming this March because too many young lives are lost to suicide. Every lap I swim will help make sure there’s a safe place for young people to turn when life feels overwhelming.
Swimming for mental health
Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people in Australia.
More than 1 in 3 are experiencing mental health difficulties, yet over a million are not getting the support they need.
ReachOut provides anonymous, free and 100% online services so young people can find a safe place to connect, share and get help when life feels overwhelming.
I’m taking part in Laps for Life to make sure these vital services are always there. Please donate to my fundraiser and help more young people get the support they deserve.

My Updates
Almost there :)
Very close to the goal now, only a couple more swims to go. Let's hope the pool doesn't stay as packed as it was today or yesterday. My theory is that all the festival people are trying to get back into pre-festival shape :) Please enjoy a picture of a wattle that is making my walk to the bus very golden atm. Share
Still alive and swimming :)
A lot going on at the moment, but still getting my laps in, hoping to up my swims to 2kms as 1.5 is too easy :) Share
Double up!!
This weekend I'm starting my most epic month of swimming yet! But I need your support. Here's something that will help: your donation will be matched dollar for dollar to help ReachOut prevent youth suicide. Double Donations are for a limited time only from 10AM AEDT, tomorrow, Thursday 26 February, so please get ready to donate to help my fundraising tally climb twice as fast. https://www.lapsforlife.com.au/fundraisers/andrewsnell Big thanks to PNI Foundation and Antipodes Partners for sponsoring double donations! Getting ready
Hi all, so I have been a bit inactive as of late, so before I start in the pool I have been getting more active, especially with Julio here, we have been walking a lot, doing some basic body weight exercises and headed to the beach for open water swimming this weekend :) I will be back doing laps as of next week in preparation for the March 1st start :)I have updated my goals as I plan to swim more than just the basic 10km :) Share
