Swim Rats
There's something about getting in the water that just works. And it's better when you've got people to swim with. Doesn't matter if it's a pool, a beach, a bay, whatever. You get in, you swim, you get out, and for a little while your brain stops doing that thing where it won't shut the fuck up.
Swim Rats started as a bit of fun between mates that turned into a community ready to welcome swimmers of all abilities. Just come for a swim and have some fun. That was always the idea.
This March we're taking part in Laps for Life, raising money for youth mental health through ReachOut. Swim at your own pool, your own beach, your own time. Log your laps and be part of something. If you're based in Melbourne, we'll have group swims throughout March you can join if you want to get in the water with some other rats.
A lot of people are struggling right now. Some of it makes the news, most of it doesn't. It's hard to know where to turn. But if the past few years have shown us anything, it's how crucial mental health support really is. ReachOut is there for young people when they need it, and every lap we swim helps keep that going.
Come have a swim. See how you go.
